PERE Credit: Axonic on Real Estate Private Credit as a Distinct Asset Class

Mar 10, 2026 | In the News

PERE Credit’s latest piece makes the case for commercial real estate private credit as a mature and distinct segment of the broader private credit market. The article examines what sets the sector apart, including tangible collateral, idiosyncratic loan structures and the growing role of alternative lenders filling the void left by traditional banks and regional institutions.

Jordan also noted that as valuations reset to more normalized levels, Axonic is actively taking advantage of near-term distressed opportunities while positioning for the longer-term trend of alternative lending filling the void in capital across the market.
